Still unclear on the address issue. If “14″ or “fourteen” sounds like death etc in Chinese, what does the original address of “140″ or “One Forty” have to do anything?

“The Telephone Building” that’s what it is. Don’t mess with it. Condo’s! what a good idea and a great location. I think “140″ is a better address vs. “138″. 140 rolls off the tongue and that’s what how the bldg. is known

“14″ in chinese culture sounds like the words for “want to die” in Mandarin Chinese and “certain death” in Cantonese Chinese …

agreed, not a big fan of “the Telephone Building” either…

i’m with jduncan: why is/was the address 140 New Montgomery unlucky?

where we part is over his objection to naming it “the telephone building”. i think that name has a little bit of cachet.
