“Eastern Neighborhoods” Rezoning Proposal

The San Francisco Planning Department will be presenting a progress report on the Eastern Neighborhoods Community Planning Process for the planned rezoning of 4 eastern san francisco neighborhoods - East SOMA (which encompasses part of South Beach), Mission (including Inner Mission), Potrero Hill (including Showplace Square), and the Central Waterfront.
The Eastern Neighborhoods Community Planning Process began in January of 2002 and whose primary goal was to develop new plans (zoning controls) for the predominently industrially-zoned land in these neighborhoods and presumably make better use of the land to develop a plan for the land to better serve residents today: housing, retail/commercial use, open space, community facilities and transportation options are all affected.
The meeting will be held tomorrow (September 6th, 2007 at 6PM).
