Work to start on second Rincon tower this year

Developer Michael Kriozere plans to begin construction on the second tower of One Rincon Hill by the end of the year, according to project architect Solomon Cordwell Buenz.
While Kriozere has not announced the timetable, SCB Vice President Chris Pemberton said the Chicago firm is “on track to support an end-of-year ground-breaking effort in terms of drawings.”
The second phase comes as SCB has opened a San Francisco office, moved eight architects from Chicago and plans to grow headcount to about 25. SCB isn’t well known in San Francisco, even in real estate circles. But as the designer of 605-foot One Rincon Hill, quickly becoming one of the most recognizable buildings on the city skyline, that is about to change. SCB has leased space at 16 Maiden Lane. Pemberton is leading the San Francisco operation.
The firm has more than 150 employees and has developed dozens of towers in Chicago and elsewhere. The firm has $3.2 billion in projects under construction. It has designed 23,000 residential units, six million square feet of offices, 25 million square feet of corporate interiors and 10,000 hotel rooms.
