Millennium Tower is a sleek, prismatic gem we can all live with.
PROJECT: The 58-story Millennium Tower, at 301 Mission Street adjacent to the old Transbay Terminal. The tower is the first major piece of a plan for 3,400 residences on and around the proposed Transbay Transit Center, which would link Caltrain, city buses, and BART. (The center is being touted by boosters as the Grand Central Station of the West,” and there\’ll be an international competition to expand on British starchitect Richard Rogers\’s preliminary plans. All that will be needed after that is at least $4 billion to design and build it.) Once completed in late 2008, the tower will be the fourth-tallest building in the city, at least for a while.
